Lagos Liga × Flexaago

Overview

A set of photoreal renders for a Lagos Liga × Flexaago chronograph. I modeled, textured and lit the watch in Blender and rendered it in Cycles, in two colorways: gold with a navy dial, and rose gold with a deep green dial.

The challenge

Two marks share one small dial. The Lagos Liga crest and the Flexaago crescent had to sit together without crowding the chronograph, and the renders had to hold up in extreme close-up, where every surface flaw shows.

Approach

1. I modeled a chunky chronograph case with a brushed flank, a polished bevel, three subdials and baton indices. The dial carries a fine raised grid, so light breaks across it in small squares.
2. The two marks stack above the center: the Lagos Liga crest on top, the Flexaago crescent and wordmark below, both in the same light metal tone as the hands and indices.
3. Texture does a lot of the work. The navy strap has an embossed, croc-like grain, and the green strap gets a woven chevron pattern. Fluted backdrops in blue, copper and teal throw streaks of light back into the metal.
4. The camera stays close. Macro frames travel across the crystal and subdials with shallow depth of field, then wider frames show the full watch on black.
