Overview
Dearjose in Motion is a vertical 3D film for a red leather shoulder bag from Dearjose. I modeled, animated and rendered it in Blender with Cycles.
The challenge
One bag, one color, red on red. The film had to keep the product readable against a red world and work in a vertical 9:16 frame. It also had to show what sells a leather bag: grain, stitching and hardware.
Approach
- I worked tone on tone. Coral and deep red backgrounds hold a red leather bag, and the separation comes from light: soft highlights along the rolled handles, a rim along the edges and the white logo.
- Detail carries the close-ups. Pebbled grain, contrast stitching, round handle tabs and a gold zipper with a teardrop pull, all framed tight so the material reads.
- The rose is the motif. A long-stemmed rose lies across the bag in the opening shots while the camera pushes in to the logo, and a leather rose charm knotted to the strap echoes it. Later, a ribbon of liquid metal splashes past the bag in copper tones.
- The film ends on a hero frame: the bag on a glossy red pedestal, a large rose behind it and dappled caustic light across the wall.
